What is a ceramic coating? A common detailing question that many of our Portland customers ask is what a ceramic coating is. A ceramic coating is a coating that chemically adheres to paint to offer superior protection, gloss and wash maintenance versus a traditional sealant/wax. Paint Correction is another term that is often thrown around in the car detailing world that can become confusing. A simple way of thinking of a paint correction is physically “correcting” the cars paint back to show room quality. The paint correction process removes things such as oxidation, swirls, scratches and other physical paint defects. A wax on the other hand, temporarily fills in scratches and covers oxidation to temporarily reduce visible defects but doesn’t create a lasting result.
